About Us

We are a family run business that has been selling building materials for 4 generations (and hopefully 5 generations if any of my 3 sons decide to keep it going!).  The Smith, Cain, and Whatley families run Door Classics, LLC where you can buy wooden front doors, buy exterior doors, and interior doors online. 

The very existence of Door Classics is a miracle.  I started off wanting to open an online sports store, but it just never seemed to come together.  Through a number of events God quietly nudged in the idea of selling doors over the internet.  In 2004 the Cain and Smith families decided to start Door Classics, LLC.  But we couldn't open the online store because we were too busy at our local millwork store Smith Building Specialties.  We wanted to make sure we could provide proper customer service to our new Door Classic's customers and at that point we couldn't.  Later that year though, our long time friends the Whatley family in Montgomery Alabama expressed an interest in overseeing our sales and customer service for Door Classics.  Finally we had a team that could provide a great customer experience. 

We wanted to do something different, so we studied the few online door stores at that time to see what was missing.  Our niche was a quality built site that allowed you to buy exterior doors, with the options you want, and place the order online without having to call us or wait on a quote.  Of course you can still always call our sales / customer service if you need us!  We wanted to give lots of options for beautifying your home no matter where you lived, at a reasonable price.  Since 2004 we have sold hundreds of doors all over North America, delivered right to our customer's homes.  God has been faithful in blessing His idea, so we want to make sure He gets the glory for it.  Thank you Jesus!  Whether you want to replace front doors or just buy a wood exterior door, Door Classics 200+ door styles should have something to fit anyone.

Before 1988 the Smith's family owned Van Kleek Co. (an Ace Hardware store) where 3 generations of the Smith family worked learning the building material business in Bay County Florida. They had 2 locations- one in Panama City and one in Lynn Haven, Florida.
